Today, UPG is launching a new one-of-a-kind anti-bacteria and anti-viral product to aid in the prevention of the spread of Covid-19 pandemic, UPG Virus Shield. It is formulated to inhibit the enzyme that allows bacteria, fungus and viruses to metabolize oxygen and grow. The Virus Shield product was tested under Japanese Industrial Standard test method of JIS Z2801 and confirmed a significant reduction in the bacteria growth on surfaces coated with UPG Virus Shield paint and certified as Anti-bacterial paint. The standard testing period is 24 hours and is one of the fastest and most reliable testing for antimicrobial activity on surfaces. JIS Z 2801 is widely used and equivalent to most of international test methods around the world and is a standard for materials and products for the classification as antimicrobial activity to be introduced into the Japanese market.
